The Left Jab

In your dome built of perspex and toughened glass,
You have built a mighty defense meant to last and last.
It is 10 foot wall of steel and barbed wire.
(Only Obama could construct one even higher).

It’s when you do your left jab so fast,
I see a glimpse through that shield, that doesn’t last,
of a fragile butterfly with a broken wing,
and the hurt, anger and rage within.

I have lost a few bouts that have cut and bruised my skin,
they have only served to make me more sensitive within.

For I can see you in your darkness,
Hear you in your silence,
And feel you on your ropes.

When this round is over,
and you are feeling a little more sober,
I hope to talk to you through your net,
and repay some of my debt.
