HONEY I AM SO SORRY
(Note: I originally posted this in 2013 under the pen-name Lerd Goin. I have revised it somewhat now that I have ostensibly improved my craft)
Ladies and gentlemen
may I have your attention,
he yells out loud
to the capacity crowd,
the gorgeous woman
In seat 37, row 69, section C
deserves my heartfelt apology
When we went to the beach
last Friday to rest
and you spotted me
rubbing another girls breast
I assure you I am innocent
of any misdeed
that I was cheating
is an erroneous notion
simply fulfilling a need
by helping apply some lotion
And what happened last week
Late Saturday night
You saw me kissing Annie
Beneath the street light
I did nothing wrong
That’s all I can say
we were simply rehearsing
a scene from a play
These 20,000 witnesses
I hope will attest
that comparing all women
I love you the best
It’s the God's honest truth
I’ll never tell you a lie
now please excuse me
I must help a cheerleader
remove something from her eye
