Ground Floor Friday

.
Queued like I was a door shop beggar;
give me food, the drink in your hand,
I'll be good, good lover girl Friday
afternoon as sun beating people down
to the chewing gum floor shuffling
their feet, sleeping in their shoes,
waiting on the godfather of grunge.

I got my moment of grace and presence
Blues made before I was rocking
in the free world
