Cake Walking
.
George Mccrea rocking out with
the Hues Corporation
Shuffling forward when paid our due
as life became easy in that moment
A bit like the cake walk
we shuffled in line to.

Simplistic movements
Rather like the era
I doubt you'd find a cake walk in operation now 😯

People these days demand more for their entertainment
I doubt it'll be fast or dangerous enough

looks like a country fair, dancing in that open air arena.
in the city, we put up road blocks & danced in the streets.
takes me right back, the girls who danced w/me, the ones who got away...

Yes John it's similar I guess
Though the Cake walk I refer to was a mechanical narrow walkway with rails to hold onto that moved back and forth as people literally shuffled along in a queue as music played out
It's true, I shuffled a few times xD
You really don't see any now but were all the rage in the early seventies at local fairs
Oh and the tunnel of love..but that's another story altogether xD

Thanks for this Rose. Today I feel, no longer a cake walk. But trying to balance tiramisu on a fork.
