Bliss and Hopelessness

He regained conciousness after several centuries of Sleep.
The first thing he noticed was a faint glistening, but it took
his eyes a few minutes to adjust to seeing while being closed.
This confused him at first, until he remembered that he was
still asleep, that everyone was. Everyone would continue to
strive for Sleep until no one had Dreams anymore. Luckily for
him, his last dream had been so long ago that he could not
have remembered it if he had wanted to...

The glistening was fresh on his mind, and he began to note
something odd about the gentleness of the reflection. A few
minutes passed painlessly before the realization occured within
him that the very cause and source of the reflecting glaze
was his own body. The term "body" seemed to be, at most, a
superficial attempt at describing what his closed eyes now
beheld as what he could only assume was, indeed, him...

The original light source was impossible to determine, but he
assumed it was the light of the World himself. Whatever it
was, it was sending its fair share of reflections off of his
body, which was, in a word, sleek. Sleek extended to mean more
descriptive words like "gelatinous" and "skeletal", but
neither word was a fitting description, for "gelatinous"
implies an almost liquid-like lack of form, and "skeletal"
implies something hard, relatively brittle, and incontinuous,
three words which would never again describe him physically...

His body was a museum exhibit that nobody would gaze upon and
wonder what life was like back then, for eyes were forever
closed until the World called them back. Were it an exhibit
for beholders, however, it would be noted: among other
irregularities, this exhibit lacks most motor ability,
possesses gleaming, oozing skin that appears to move slowly in
a manner similar to old glass, and which appears to shine
regardless of proximity or location of light, and features
such as eyes, extremeties, and orifices that are at times
nonexistant and at other times fully present. The most
interesting phenomenon to note, however, is the tendency of
the above listed to enter into a polymorphous state in which
existence and form seem to be blurred into slow, yet animated
bursts of deeply shaded cloudlike movement. Truly the only
way to describe the exhibit without either leaving key details
unmentioned or blatantly misrepresenting information is this:
nearly every facet of the exhibit's existence, were it
not for the fact that it's existence is proven by it being on
display, would not normally be possible in this reality or
dimension. Not even in the wildest Dreams or as the fruit of
the World would this exhibit have breathed life, or so one
would think, if one were to observe the impossibility of nearly
every facet...

The size of his imagination could only be compared numerically
to his time spent sleeping, but imagination would only inhabit
his life so long as others around him were still dreaming. He
decided, upon a final inspection of his physical form, that to
put it simply, his form was a hybrid between everything one
could not even begin to understand or mentally fabricate and
some things that were barely fathomable. All of this thought
stemming from an initial distraction after seeing a glimmer of
what would otherwise have been light reflected off of his sleek
body, if his body were not capable of producing such an effect
without the aid of a light source, which, after closer visual
inspection, he found was not present after all...

Apparently the World himself was not the source of the light.
The light seemed to come from within his body, or rather was a
part of it, as artificial as every other facet. He still did
not fully comprehend the meaning of all this yet...
