My Soulmate, My Cellmate

Can you hold me close and pretend I don't have these scars?
Treat me like I have value, make these moments ours?
Can you try to love me even if I can't love who I am?
Try your best and try your hardest when I don't give a damn?
Because I live in a prison, I am locked away in my own hell
But if you wish to love me, you must join me in my cell
I know it is dark and damp, there is screaming, the air is palpable with fear
But the noise isn't so bad with your hands over my ears
I can look into your eyes when the darkness allows the view
The only time I smile is when I look at you
I know it may be scary, I know in here to don't belong
But in life you are my light, so will you let me tag along?
