Rescue Me

When I was just a teenager never knowing love
I would ride my bike across town just to see his house.
I never saw him, but I felt warm just knowing we were close.
Twenty-five years later, knowing love too well,
My logical fairy hovers above me,
Reminding me of my decent life.
Meanwhile her irrational counterpart whispers possibilities.
You are not my teenage crush,
My knowledge is much greater.
I've had years to learn just what I need,
I know you can provide me.
Still, the warmth you bring tingles me,
My mind is alive in fantasies...
Guzzling from each other's cup,
Brushing against each other's skin,
Leaving a trail of prickles, desperate for more...
Your lips tease me, daring me to kiss them.
So gently, because you deserve to be treated with the most care.
Then harder because I cannot stop myself!
I bite you...trying to remain gentle.
You awaken my animal that I try to keep hidden, for
My experience has been the animal is not always welcome.
But you embrace me wholly,
You allow me to let down my guard.
You love me and the animal within me.
And I love all of you...
Especially your dark parts that make you who you are.
We take our time,
And we don't.
My body cries out for you..
Your body reciprocates..
Pushing to inhabit me.
I've never liked that logical fairy...
Come My Love and rescue me
From my life of emotional mediocrity.
