Lets be honest
I am loving and loyal
I wonder why we have mansions, yet homeless children
I hear Silent screams longing for help
I see pride get in the way of trust and change
I want A better tomorrow, led by a great today
I am changing and trying
I pretend to be who I’m not, for safety
I feel safe in this fantasy
I touch the hurt imagining an equal world
I worry I won’t make an impact in this struggling generation
I cry when I see my friends and family hurt, suffer, and give up
I am strong and determined
I understand it will take patients and time
I say it will be worth a perfect world
I dream we will all be equal in everyone’s eyes
I try to see all of Gods creations equal
I hope this is more than a poem to you
I am your shoulder, your ear. Your friend
