Unforgiven
Is it a weakness when I say
I'd rather die than live another day?
Can you really call it living
when every hint of hope
comes crashing down
and leaves you unable to cope?
When the payment of blood
is not enough to suffice
For the cost of knowledge
accrued in life
And the burden of breathing
is too much to bare
compared to the cost
of the toll keeper's fare
Should I strike up a deal
with the devil himself
in the frail hope
of uplifting myself?
From this empty shell
I thought was my own
Though the reality is
it's still on loan
Or has the burden of life
surpassed even death
and encapsulated my soul
in unforgiven debt?
The answer it seems
is a gamble away
Should I choose to live
or die another day
I'd rather die than live another day?
Can you really call it living
when every hint of hope
comes crashing down
and leaves you unable to cope?
When the payment of blood
is not enough to suffice
For the cost of knowledge
accrued in life
And the burden of breathing
is too much to bare
compared to the cost
of the toll keeper's fare
Should I strike up a deal
with the devil himself
in the frail hope
of uplifting myself?
From this empty shell
I thought was my own
Though the reality is
it's still on loan
Or has the burden of life
surpassed even death
and encapsulated my soul
in unforgiven debt?
The answer it seems
is a gamble away
Should I choose to live
or die another day
