rigidity

You donít bend and I like it
because I am too flexible
and for the briefest of moments
I enjoyed your statuesque physique
that made me feel both safe
and free

You donít bend and I kind of like it
the way your passions
drive your life makes me wish
I had that much conviction
or fire for anything
that isnít fleeting

You donít bend and I think I like it
everything set in its place
though I get the feeling Iím an odd
shape in your streamlined world
and Iím not sure if youíre looking
to challenge me or change
the things that make me, me

You donít bend
and Iím not sure I like it
your way or the highway
and your inability to let go
of that almost fight we had
where the only thing I did right
was stand up for myself
and the only thing you did wrong
was hate me for it

You donít bend and I donít like it
because I canít compromise myself
out of my own existence

So I canít bend anymore
for you
