Stranger
I find it strange to find
a stranger lives in me
I've gone and seen the things
I thought I'd never see
Back from the mirror
stares a face that I don't know
It wears the dirt of
all the places I won't go
And sings this stranger songs
in tunes I've never heard
and writes the poem in no word
that I have ever learned
I kiss my stranger on the lips
No, that isn't me
and find somehow it fits,
So the stranger's who I'll be
a stranger lives in me
I've gone and seen the things
I thought I'd never see
Back from the mirror
stares a face that I don't know
It wears the dirt of
all the places I won't go
And sings this stranger songs
in tunes I've never heard
and writes the poem in no word
that I have ever learned
I kiss my stranger on the lips
No, that isn't me
and find somehow it fits,
So the stranger's who I'll be
