Monday work wah! My mind meanders.  Why?  Want money.
In at five to be out by two, eight and a half’s enough.
I’m all caught up, nothing to do.  I’d rather be busy, talking to you.
Keeping you sane, sober and strong, free of the crack that’s held you so long.
Working the steps, dancing like fools, two steps forward, using the tools.
One step backward, that’s ok, moving ahead, the AA way.
Make the decision, give it to God, move your bod, trudge, plod.
Look at yourself, are you greedy and vain?  What would you give, to be free of the pain?
The bondage of self, stuck in a rut.  Horrible feeling deep in your gut.
Pain is the ribbon that wraps up the gift.  With true, real honest love, your soul shall lift.
Getting out of your head, not needing drugs.  Getting in to heart by giving out hugs.
Allow the real you to shine in the sun.  Live love and laugh, have fuckin fun.
Join with the world, in its wind and its rain.  Enjoy just for today, stay sober and sane.
Race toothpicks, fly kites, live in the moment, not yesterdays ick.  Are you not tired of being so sick?
There is a solution, a way out of the mess, all you have to do is give it a test.
A few simple steps, things you must do.  The spirit of the universe will do it for you.
Put your life in God’s hands, let it make the plans.  Remember, footprints in the sands.
We all need help, I can’t do it alone.  I don’t think you’re a clone.
You’re an individual.  Your own hopes and dreams.  You are one of a kind, nice so it seems.
I am glad I have met you that you’re in my life.  Maybe one day husband and wife.
