A Day In The Life

 Today I told a lie
It was a big fat lie
And because I told that lie
I then had to tell a fib
The lie and the fib
Then had to be bolstered up
By a further half truth
and in turn backed up
by statistics I’d just made up
ironically the statistics were white lies
about immigration figures
Irony and lies mix well together
Lies, damn lies, and statistics
I spent all day doing this;
Being economical with the truth
Telling half truths, fibs and lies
By 6:00pm I had to tell
An absolute whopper
So I wouldn’t get caught out
And I finished the day
Without having to admit to anything
Without having to tell the truth
Just another typical day for me
A day in the life of a politician
