FOG

The greyness of human banality
Is strong and heavy today
It violently bears down on me
Pushing my arms an shoulders
Into the pit of my stomach
I feel woefully compacted
I feel the need to stretch
As if stretching might lead to relief
I stretch for a few seconds
The chains begin to feel soft
I feel like I could run a mile
But within minutes the greyness
forces it’s power and authority
And I am back in its grasp
I cannot escape its bondage
I no longer consider freedom
In my list of possible options
And retire to the darkened room
To mope, cry and wallow
And consider my loss of light
And lack of any positivity
Humanity’s lack of humanity
Is now a constant attribute
And no longer shocking to me
There is nothing I can do
There is nothing I want to do
It is now clearly on your head
Or you can join me and others
In the fog of greyness
