His Appeal

She lowers her eyelashes for a moment,
In case the master looks up suddenly;
She slides to the floor; but makes no comment:
What is the point of prolonged commentary?
She waits until he beckons, quite complicit
In every single gesture she can hope
He’ll make; for, if the silence can elicit
The speeding of her heartbeat, she will cope
With noiseless hours that may stretch to days
And nights, when all her receptivity
Is quite enough to please him; let him gaze
At her and, then, enjoy proximity
Once she has crawled across and let him feel
The heat of her desire for his appeal
