What we had between you and me was only
Supposed to be a temporary fix. Then you
Had to make me believe in something holy

Because it was like you knew
That you were healing parts of my soul
That was broken. You made the whole zoo

In my chest settle. You knew how to console
Me when things were going bad and crazy.
You were the one who stole

Pieces of me when you made everything less hazy.
I wanted to heal the broken parts
In you too. I know that it was never easy

For you to let me in. I was never trying to pierce
Anything, but you walked away before I could
Get anywhere close to your ace of hearts.

You got to see most of the good
Parts of me, but you did it without trying to fix
The bad parts just like I wish that you would

See beyond the bad parts of you. It just clicks
In that moment that you were the one to change
My life, all because you were able to lift the bricks

Left behind in my heart. It is strange
For me to say that a person, who I never
Knew before would be able to rearrange

Things so everything would feel much better.
Everything before you was out of whack and
Out of balance. Now things are more in the center.
