Summer Sun

This is a personal milestone for me. This is the 500th poem I have published here and I wanted to put up something special, something epic and try as I might this was the only thing I could squeeze out - still, I like it and I suppose that's what counts - I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and inspiration. I couldn't have done it without you lot and I will be forever thankful - here's to the next 500 - love and ehugs to you all :-)

Summer Sun

a sunny day really brings them all out
that's why I am roaming around and about
I get a certain kind if tingle
as I innocently mingle
picnickers relax and chill by the river side
grateful not to be stuck indoors, so glad to be outside
walkers on the boardwalk, people frolic in the park
making the most of the sunshine before it gets dark
It's busy, noisy and so much fun
all in all a summer's day homerun
but for me doing what's right
I prefer the use of dim twilight
a pretty girl sitting all alone
taking selfies on her I-phone
I move in quietly to hug her
at time like these I wish I was only a mugger
and not a serial killer
