Fire: Where Do The Burners Go?
Burners
Is that what they are called?
People who brand, put body parts in fire,
Put out cigarettes on their skin,
Put their hands on stove tops or lighters
Or scolding water or hot wax
Some are a little too careless around fire
They jokingly claim they are fire proof
They put ice on the burns
Knowing full well that kills cells
And makes scaring more likely
Where do the burners go?
When the fire no longer
Offers warmth and affection
When the pain brought by flame
Is no longer satisfactory?
Do they dream of the fires of hell
With peace on their mind
Do Burners go to heaven?
Do you think there are candles up there?
Where do the Burners go...
When they finally
Burn up...

We're all fucked up in some way, usually noticeable to an emotional detective. Trauma arousal can look so cool. Risk addiction, player game, extreme sports and situations, masochism, self destruction.
It's a growing emptiness when we tap the stream from that root place. Sooooo it's a very cold space left over. When the fire doesn't sate our desire anymore.
