There was a time I thought you and I would last.
Thought you did everything right,
But alas you showed your ass in the end and I saw the real you.
I'm so glad you blew it,
I'm so happy that I dogged the bullet.
So glad that I can finally let go.
I want you to know that I'm finally letting go.
I want you to know that I'm letting go of the memories,
Letting go of the sweet fantasies,
Letting go of the bitter stories,
Most of all I'm letting go of you.

I wrote this after thinking about a previous 'relationship' I was in a year ago and during that year I grew so much from breaking up with them and despite that I was in so much pain and I was so angry with them I learned a lot about myself and took some time to move on and finally I'm a lot better.
After a year I was able to release this poem and celebrate the fact that after the heart break I went through I was able to come out stronger and better than before.
