-the nexus

                       
 long ago, I learned that staying in observation        
mode served my life best; I've said many times        
people who talk too much usually have a lot to          
say about nothing and you'd be surprised how        
fast nothing can destroy everything        
         
when a dragon sleeps with his mouth open it's        
the innocent towns folk that end up taking the        
blame for his den catching fire, after all, who         
wants to admit they burned down their only      
place to find true peace and happiness, simply    
because they couldn't keep their mouth shut        
         
for whatever reason I've strayed from the path;        
I'm lucky to have people old and new in my life        
to nudge me just enough to recognize I've lost my        
way, instead of sneaking out the back door, afraid        
they'll have to face the nothings of their own          
         
I've set course to find the center of my being        
so I can take advantage of the opportunities I        
hope are still waiting for me when I reach the        
nexus; even though it may be to late to save       
some of what I've destroyed while out of balance        
there's hope, and I'll choose maybe over nothing        
any day...
