You
I feel like an absolute beginner at the game of love
I know it’s a game since I have lost more than once
But I will never learn a single thing
From the things that happen and make me blue
I start like a virgin each time I play
I believe it’s the best way to start the game
And I refuse to be a cynic
Just because the game seems fixed somehow
I’ll play this way until the very end
Right until the day that I find you
I know that you’re out there somewhere
Even though that makes me easy to fool
I’ll open my heart as wide as I can
And believe everything that I hear is true
I know that makes me an easy mark in the game
But I’ll play this way until I’ve found the one who’s true
I could play this game the way many play
And hide my true feelings deeply inside
And I could march to the same drummer
That everyone seems to hear
But that just feels so false when I seek what is true
I’ll play my own tune seemingly all alone
Until the day that I’ve found you
I know it’s a game since I have lost more than once
