A Weary Road

I was a man-child in tha day
And I was just looking to play
Looking for ways to set me free
Searched over here and I searched there
Didn’t want to be anyone's square
Looking in gutters for the key
Walked into places on a dare
Got out with a wing and a prayer
I looked for me and then I'd flee
Fists clenched, I was on a flash point
Smiling ladies saved me sometimes
I traveled this land from sea to sea
But it is the here and the now
I'm who I am without kowtowing
The difference between now and then
It was in the marsh I found my Zen
Will never get better than that.
