ODE TO TOO HOT 69

This poem grew out of the first rhyme (bold lines) that came to mind of the poet's name.

Where bathing naked
Has been permitted,
Too Hot 69
Cools off in the Rhine
.

For her lover true
Admirable view,
In all her glory
Like a Lorelei.

In the warm day's haze
A towel he lays,
On which she can rest
Prone upon her breast.

For her he stands guard,
Erect and face hard;
Coward intruder
Not to disturb her.

A watch he does keep
In her beauty sleep,
Recharging within
As sun warms her skin.

Refreshed and rested,
Sitting bare breasted,
She gives him the word
To put down his sword.

He claims his reward
Of her love, deep-stored,
In eager embrace,
There, then in that place.

They find in their hold
Better than Rhinegold;
Minds head to the skies
Where live Valkyries.
