Welcome to the masquerade

And so she dances
behind the mask
A demon faced gentleman
wanted her grace, but dare not ask
for a woman too fair
for a man so monstrous to love
but she saw pureness of a holy dove

she took his hand
and ripped of the mask
his face like a cupids smile
that face is something to bask
when the mask was torn
so was he
it was eyes of a liar, she could see.

you can't judge on looks
but you can judge the eyes
as she saw fire and deception
that cast all his lies
he may seem fare
at first sight
but be sure not to cast a blinding light.

so now he boasts
his fairness with pride
no mask can shade
for all that he lied
but she reamains true
and runs from the dance
as she can't find love at first glance.

this ball is for people
that have a lonely heart
someone who wants to find
a hidden black art
you know where you are
when you can finally shade
when you can proudly say:
''welcome to the masquerade''
