The Tide That Binds

Sitting by the ocean
with the notion
that something is amiss
feelings fingers cant quite get the point
is it me
perhaps
surely
it can't be you

Picasso
couldn't paint perfection
like your beautiful lies
hidden deeply
beneath
a paper mache mask
seamless and faultless
to the uninitiated
a fine family portrait

Viewed
from a far
through a broken looking glass
the mind reels
knowing some monsters
hide in the guise
of the one they say is god

In the eyes of an innocent child
the shoreline seemed
so peaceful
so inviting
that soothing sound
of waves
grey washed
with the sea breeze
