Close the night

Let the rose scent the air
dust of pollen to mix
the nectar hid beneath
petals pink and soft
to tempt the bee
in its quest for honey
amber sweet,of the earth
Hold the butterfly
tender wings out-stretch
fly to mists of joy
calm of bliss to come
an opal in my lips
smooth my tongue
a sigh on my ear
dark petals glowing skin.
The rose again petals unfurl
nectar to share
with the butterfly.
Close the night,
soothe the soul,
mind and body sleeping
with the opal and rose
borne on gossamer wings.
