True Cost
How much would it cost?
If one could sell their innocence in one act?
What price would you have accepted as payment?
A handfull of cheap cents? A dollar bill? Five dollars? Ten dollars? Twenty? One hundred?
Did you exchange it for words?
Pitiful "I love yous" gasped at ecstacy
Cheap words that have no lasting value?
At least if one sold their innocence they could buy something to stare at in return
Instead of air forced from lungs that last but seconds
Yet that is what we willing sell it for
We trade our innocence for air
Now, excuse me, I must go haggle the cost
