Last Night A Flying Monkey

It must have been
half past midnight
or was it
mid past halfnight

The still
silent
serenity disturbed
softly at first
like a whispering at the window
Perhaps gentle branches
rustling listlessly in the breeze

Full moon smiles back
tis nothing
someone's imagination made the sound

Stones pelted against glass house shell
louder than words
Shouted in accented capitals
for all to see the true meaning
of thinly veiled threats
and twenty four hour ultimatums
