To Corrupt a Page

It’s intimidating
to thread thin curving gray
into this snow

Before the hefty landing
of scuffs beneath bumbling claws,
this snow sang sweet incipience
this snow—holding hands
in hush—hummed humble silence

This bruised snow sings now
through squiggling scars.
