The Ward

I don’t want to go to the hospital
To shuffle all around those painted halls
They paint them green to calm you down
And shoot you up so they don’t have to deal with your pain

And the doctors look at charts but not at you
It’s like you really don’t exist it’s true
All for being just a little strange
Like I’m the only one who acts this way

Is it a crime to be up and down?
To wear a smile or to wear a frown
I can’t control the look on my face
And now they want to put me in this place

I don’t want to go to the mental ward
To listen to the men who cry or laugh
Or scream at night from the things they see
I don’t believe that this is me

Oh no,
Don’t you send me I don’t want to go
But people just don’t care and they don’t want to know
And I’ll be leaving for that place today
To spend some time and drift away
Drift away from who I really am
And just become the shadow of a living man

I don’t want to go to the hospital
Just to shuffle down those barren halls
I don’t want to hear the screams and crazy laughs
I’m not insane like those men who scream at all

Don't send me
Don't sent me there
Don't make me go
Don't want to go in there
Oh no, oh no, oh no
