When a real man comes along ~

Presumption on the ends of fingers intertwined.
Love is never blind,
still our eyes decline to see.
blacken the braille, injure the retinas
so revelation can’t stare us dead in the face.
We pick our own grapes, make our own wine…
too sour to sip from a bottomless glass we select
thinking it’s real crystal, when it’s crystal clear, it’s not.
I was ill on a man who owned no compassionate land,
no roots for a heart to flourish
no fire to keep me warm when he wrapped me in his
bitter winter.
He aged me beyond my years with his weary ways,
lengthened my nights, shortened my days
with lies, false alibis; those that stained my pillow with silent cries.
Chained the woman inside of me,
who needed to be free
who needed true euphoria instead of...
hanging on in vain for a calvary that never came.
Then. He. Came.
The thin line between his lips parted and he spoke with conviction…
Place your heartache on the shelf,
and rewrite what you believe.
burn for me,
blaze hard,
moan harder,
breathe easier
be my……light, my heavenly body.
Forget every man and moment that made you
slaughter a memory because it wasn’t grand or royal enough,
to live in your beautiful mind.
Let me show you what trust looks like when it's dressed
in bona fide commitment.
Let me gift you pearls of respect that compliment your skin
with silk reverence and esteem that hasn't even scratched
the surface of your unmeasured worth.
I want to spoon feed you bliss that simmers on your tongue
for days, weeks and months.
I can give your face a permanent smile with a shine
so radiant, it’s intensity would embarrass the sun.
I need to place a song between your thighs
and with every step you take, your sway becomes melody in motion.
Let me soothe any and all your pain before it ever has a chance to reach maturity.
I promise you, every punch life throws and every fall you take-
will go unnoticed as long as I'm standing by your side.
Let me love you in ways that knows no boundaries.
He showed me through strength of actions that orbited around this man’s words,
and I sunk my trust in the crook of his neck.
I let the contentment of what I always needed...
open my heart.
*....just my imagination flowing, not my personal story, just my mind messing around, although I'm sure many can relate. *
