GREY ROSE

I wish you a second within my eyes...
Grey rose unable to be found.
Rooted in earth,walked on by man but once...
Twas winter I recall...
When my petals caught heavy snow,
and my stem bent in horizon.
I tried to call out when I heard her heavy steps.
I tried singing,
my voice at mercy to the chill...
Wanting only to be noticed,
I was stepped on
And broken from growth...
