Image for the poem tender lilt

tender lilt

the delicate shadows of your mind
cast ethereal beauty on me
rare gem hidden in the dragon's keep

seeing you now
I weep for misunderstandings
willows bending in the wind

whisper my feelings for you
as the meditation bell chimes
steadying the rhythm of my heart

tender of soul
I've trespassed
in a consecrated place

retracing my steps
lest I turn over a stone
troubling the quiet

see me now
subtle of voice
gentle of being

guard gone
heart open
laying down my daggers

lilt tender thoughts
of a newborn day
blinking eyes ease open

seeing the sun's rays
reflected in your face
melts the coldest of hearts
