Image for the poem Who held you...

Who held you...

A snare of a question, do I dare ask?
a revealing, a headache and trousers lift.

So velvet, mature
a captivated subject
a beautiful rushing, shimmering
light.

I am seeing something, and nervous I became
a flag red, a hushed laugh,
 jealous glance, straight teeth.

Who was she,
that held your promises and birthed your stars?

Did she warm you, wear your scent like a perfume.
I wish to know, who held you?

Did you stand in silence and speak with panics?
Was she the one to make you peak and then want you...
just for fun?

Or was it you?
Are you the guilty one?
Tinkering around, under the hood...
rich enough for the hidden son?

See it's cloudy and me....
I am curious.

Didn't she honor you and You, didn't you, honest her?
-that's the way contracts go.

Your warmth, what did it do to her?
Afire with no resistant cloth, why did you part?

She held you.
So, she speaks of you, when your not around.
a disaster of an actor, so true, so talented, a helper....
a compliment.

Something shared, treasured and for granted, taken.

I should! Remember you, because she held you.
Your voice the back of your head,
can you see it?

Please say you do.
A boldness, planned action,
a southern accent.

I smile, I am.. enthused with you.
So say it..."Who held you"?
