"Supernova Lovers"
You took me there; then you
kicked me in the teeth... just
on the edge, yeah... just on
the edge of everything (I saw eternity)
We walked, yeah, we walked
together in the sun; I sat with
you there and felt your warmth,
shrouded by glows of billions
of stars... and, then, in a glimpse,
it was gone... all your shit
eclipsed it, and, then, the
cold come
So, all I want to know is...
Can you explain to me; can
you say, why the bright light
that was you, that should've
led us together to Heaven,
instead veered astray and
dimmed into a lesser grey
I now can't see you anymore;
I guess you're not there...
you've faded, so, from my
retina's you're not refracting;
you've flown away, so, my
worlds imbalanced
But fuck...
We were both there together;
we were supernova lovers
Everyone watched us through
binoculars closely; and, like
specimen on a fucking Petridish...
like scientists to see our innermost
magnificent workings
And then...
Can you explain to me; can you
say, why the bright light that was
you, that should've led us to Heaven,
instead, veered astray and dimmed
into a lesser grey
And, now, I can't see you anymore;
I guess you're not there... you've
faded, so, from my retina you're
not refracting...
You've flown away, so, my world's
imbalanced
My constellations are all rearranged
