Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve
Pastel sunset shines through clouds
Pale blue sky etched with crimson
Sun sinks in fiery burst
Darkness lies across the land
Wind blows across corn fields
Train whistle blows a plaintive note
Stars sparkle on like Christmas tree lights
We lay in December chill
In dome tent
On air mattress cushion
Rain flap unneeded
Gossamer net mesh ceiling
Translucent to moonbeams
As we lay bundled beneath a wool blanket
Amongst waving tassels of corn
Bathing in moon-glow
Our bodies converge
I gaze through the distance between us
Your eyes on fire with Christmas Eve wonder
The evening star blesses us
Shining like a mother’s love upon our frail bodies
The purest love fills my soul
All pretense dissolves in your embrace
Only you and I, imbibing each other’s liquor
With the wind rustling the corn tassels
And the mistress Venus
Blesses the sacrament
Of our holy union
Lying upon the rich earth
We abide in each other’s bosoms
I press my mouth upon your wet ruby lips
Stars explode deep in the hollow of my hips
As we frolic with childlike abandon
Enfolded in the tender moment
Golden words tumble from my mouth
The intimate secrets of my yearning
Unfolded in whispered tenderness
My emotions lay vulnerable
In this completion of my surrender
Our bodies mingle beneath the stars
Till your heart beats so close to mine
That each pulse
Sends shivers of ecstasy through my breast
And natal mystery of the new born Christ child
Envelopes us in magical time
Church bells ring joyfully across the dark fields
Our sacred passage
Down the river of childhood complete
As we float into the distant dark sea of life
Pastel sunset shines through clouds
Pale blue sky etched with crimson
Sun sinks in fiery burst
Darkness lies across the land
Wind blows across corn fields
Train whistle blows a plaintive note
Stars sparkle on like Christmas tree lights
We lay in December chill
