Is that Too Much to Ask For?

I Only Want to Save the World
Is that too much to ask for?
Yeah, I dream big... but so what!
I'm just tired of the threats rising out of the depths
From a bottomless pit deeper than the core of the world
Beneath the boiling pit burning within their bloated egos
As the retching eruption of volcanic gas ignites
That won't be as destructive as the population explosion
Expelling methane into city sewers and overflowing landfills
Seven billion exhaust ports screaming in exhalation
Futilely trying to bottle the dragon's fiery breath
When the glaciers melt away fresh water dissipates
As the ocean is encroaching further onto futile soil
Unfit to grow crops or for animal consumption
Not even honey bees can find a pea to pollinate
Yet we're still burning fossil fuels to pollute the last of Earth's fresh air
Smothering all hope of returning our world to hues of green and blue
So to answer the obvious before we breathe our final breath
I only want to save the world
Is that too much to ask for?
