Loneliness had gripped my core
Thought I’d be looking forever more
I looked and then I looked some more
I had a list of such and such
A smile, a kiss, a gentle touch
It’s not as if I wanted much
But;
She’d have to be pretty
And of course very witty
Occasionally dizzy
She had to have beauty
Without being snooty
A real cutie
She must be gentle and kind
With an intelligent mind
A one of a kind
Must be classy
Never brassy
And just a little bit sassy
Long blonde hair
Looks good in evening wear
Beachwear, anywhere
Feminine and demure
Confident and sure
Thoughts not always pure
To make my heart go boom
To make my engine go zoom
Being a devil in the bedroom
Somebody to increase my heart rate
To make my pulse pulsate
I am looking for my soul mate
Then I had a breakthrough
Nothing left for me to do
Because I found all of this in you

You have to be careful ith he sweetener, it sneaks out and stains the armpits of your favorit shirt when you least expect it. Then everyone knows it happened if you wave at anybody...

I think to fully understand this poem you have to be inside my head :-)
I do not subscribe to convention, never have - terms like beauty, lovely and pretty is not as shallow as is the norm - I have always sought the whole package - you can be a supermodel and yet still be ugly, you can be quazimodo and still be pretty - there is so much more than looks (damn it I need to write a poem about this :-))
I suspect you are pretty, beautiful even - you can tell such a lot from the way someone writes so don't put yourself down :-)

There's no putting myself down David as I'm very comfortable in my skin and with my age :)
A younger man once told me that is what made me sexy...nice to know... :)
It is sad how people subscribe to what society says is beautiful...they in turn miss out on so so much...am pleased you feel the same way
