Into The Fog

reality is a fragile thing
when the powers that be
choose to use you as their plaything
it can slip through my tightly clenched fists
at any moment

it's like driving through a dense fog
where the lines on the road
are barely visible
this is how I go through life

now is the good times where
I'm riding the manic waves
my voices are friendly
though they can turn black at anytime

biting through my psyche
with vicious and cruel intent
demons pushing in on my being
smothering, tearing and scratching at me

Freddy Mercury is one of the friendly voices
why him I don't know
maybe my love of his music
reality tells me if there is an afterlife
he won't be wasting it speaking to me

though here's the kicker
if I drink enough he's sitting here
telling me of a time before
when we once knew one another

back to the blurred lines on the road
suck it up, take this pill and that
each have a purpose
damn it why don't they work

left feeling I'm going through life
with my panties showing
worse yet completely naked
nothing to cover me from prying eyes

I told a dear friend
about some of my delusions
he said that was unrealistic
I said I know but why not entertain people?

so that's what i'll attempt to do
if nothing else document
my roller coaster ride of an existence
hopefully take you on a journey into the fog
if you care to go with me
