A Different Path
She takes a different path each time she knocks
Upon his door and hopes to find him in;
She wonders briefly if such a path locks
Her into new behaviours. Is it a sin
To strip once the door’s closed; if no one knows
What happens there and how words are exchanged
For quiet formality, as all her clothes
Are swapped for nudity? When she’s arranged
To suit his disposition and desire
To view her from new angles; in new ways
That others cannot comprehend; the fire
Which burns in her can only fuel the days
To pass in an instant, only to pause
When she takes diff'rent paths to master's doors.
