Co-dreamers (song)
I get myself ready:
pull on my lucky jeans for you
and tremble and daydream for you;
my heart is all but steady -
big jacket, I slip out the door,
the street is sleeping heavy for us...
We're all unstable some nights:
juvenile hostility,
occasional fragility;
my name is fabled; my sight
is limited and fuzzy now;
he says he loves you, does he now?
Just lie with me, where was he, now,
when we were in that white brick house?
...
You're further up than beauty:
golden hair and crystal eyes,
I think my blood might crystallize -
and you can see right through me -
no furniture, the walls are bare,
just sound and color dancing there.
Ah, ah... So pretend to kiss my face
Ah, Ah.... Let's co-dream this night away...
Your pulse is taking photos -
I'm high and you're not helping me
come down; no, I'm a thousand feet
above this empty old home...
Floating and I feel you dangling,
hand around my ankle -
[Chorus]
Let's heal here, the pleasure's mending
My ears are both transcending;
my fears are dead and bending -
Tell me, are you into pretending?
You're here, and we're both nowhere;
no beer, but I'm not sober;
stay here, this is ascending -
Tell me, are you into pretending?
...
We could co-dream a fountain
and dip our fingers in the blue -
so clear, I swear it tastes like you -
and we could breathe out mountains...
sky twinkling, your hands are warm;
I think I feel the perfect storm -
I think my sane is on the floor;
it's in the rain, it beats the door! -
[Chorus]
Let's heal here, the pleasure's mending
My ears are both transcending;
my fears are dead and bending -
Tell me, are you into pretending?
You're here, and we're both nowhere;
no beer, but I'm not sober;
stay here, this is ascending -
Tell me, are you into pretending?
Ah, ahh... so pretend to kiss my -
ah, ahh... let's co-dream this night...
Ah, ahh... soft skin, no light...
Ah, ahh... but you taste like sunshine;
mm, mmm... pretend to kiss my -
mm, mmm... We're co-dreamers tonight...
pull on my lucky jeans for you
and tremble and daydream for you;
my heart is all but steady -
big jacket, I slip out the door,
