but the sign read 'Invalid Park'
just as well they put
a sign up
because I never would have questioned
the validity...

Was that Invalid as in Disabled? Not a confession of using such a space when you shouldn't?

I am invalid... ed, but don't use the parks much because I disagree with paying the GP $100 each year to certify that my chronic MS hasn't gone away...
Sorry to hear of your condition. Assuming GP means General (Medical) Practice/Practitioner, I am glad we do not have to pay for parking at our doctor surgery in rural England (but the parking at our National Health Service hospitals is a different matter, even the hospital's workers have to pay it).
We've been paying for parking at the hospital for 10 or so years now... on the nose I think to charge those who have no choice.
Better than the American system of course, though that still might be coming...
