Golden Gate Bridge
Feet follow the way to heaven
I pace the holy path
suspended on bridge
each footstep a sacred journey
Pacific Ocean a palette of blue
San Francisco bay an azure Mediterranean dream
with boats churning froth
in dizzying cosmic panorama
Carl Sagan’s cosmos theme music
plays in my mind
My place in the cosmos
a pearl of consciousness
absorbing atoms strung together
in sea and sky
I am perched on ladder of evolution
like a frog on a lily pad
suspended over cold water
I reach the other side
Marin County welcomes pedestrian
I mind surf on Vangelis melody
a thousand stars blossom
in my belly

Read this with interest, having heard from my grandmother describing the Golden Gate Bridge when my uncle drove her over it.
It was a refulgent day. The skies were blue, the ocean was azure, and it was cool. I walked all the way from San Francisco to Marin County. It was heavenly. The theme music to Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" played in my mind. Glad to hear this brought back good memories for you my friend.
