Meditation of Madness
locked in the house alone
voices begin to drone
wraith’s whispers cloud my mind
seeping through the slats
paint my thoughts matte
pushing and pulling me from behind
illuminating the part that enjoys
the nigrescent noise
echoing their persuasive poems infinite
from a familiar goatee
in the pale glow I see
myself grin from the pit
in garments of grays
instigating conflict from the haze
inciting a fight
blows of anger and revenge
cause the door to my composure to unhinge
tonight in the blight
as my reality begins to bleed
the ceiling start to recede
leaving me to wrestle in the abyss
where I forgave and forgot my pain
shackled and bound by chain
in the mocking madness...

Very good rhythm of rhyme, Dean.
Whale beat me to the first verse comment -
very Haiku-like.
Best of luck in the comp!

Hopefully if the box of disturbances we create is our own creation, we can find the way to get out, and even learn a thing or two in the process

I like this poem because the images provoke in me a good night with a bottle of Jameson. But that's me. I think the word choice is strong. But the images almost feel like glass. I feel that each stanza is breaking into the next one which is incredible because it provokes very tense subject matter. It's like each stanza has a glass floor just breaking into the level below it.

Really loved---> “illuminating the part that enjoys
the nigrescent noise
echoing their persuasive poems infinite” &
“blows of anger and revenge
cause the door to my composure to unhinge
tonight in the blight"<-- both of these stanza gave me such vivid images and beautifully crafted I might add.
