COUPLE

I have always believed absence between lovers ignites the greater flames while extinguishing the lesser. Some nights the wolves are silent and the moon howls. This poem is such a soft lunar sound to the silenced reader. Thank you for sharing.

Such a poignant piece.......yet breath-catching in its beautiful, bitter-sweet expression.....and depth of meaning!!  Your final stanza brought tears to my eyes, and truly touched my soul.....especially your final stanza!!

Whale....You are soo right ! Love exists so easily....almost effortlessly, sometimes....when two individuals are heart to heart, and hand to hand.  But the ultimate test of a true and abiding love, is its ability to endure the time, and the distance of separation.

Very nice poem. It shows how some things are meant to come in couples. I'd delete the 'and' s if i were you just to make it more intense.

Let me think on that - it would certainly make it more intense but may sacrifice the subtle - will think in it

I love the simplicity of words loaded with such profound depth.
I can't remember where i read this first, i think it was in a competition and i loved it immediately.

Love is a powerful feeling, shape shifting, intoxicating, blessed and wholly. The space that it fills is immeasurable, underestimated and sometimes an illusion.

I can identify with the sentiments in this poem, whale. I think I've learnt a lot about love, but I've learnt the hard way. Somewhere in the fallout I became a realist, because love feels different second time around, like somethings changed. It feels new, matured and it has changed me at the same time. I think acceptance is a great foundation to rebuild.

I loved your use of imagery with the hands and the simplicity of love expressed through connection. You've given me a lot to think about. Thank you.
