I watched with saddened eyes when
She fell in love with a god
Blinded in the grip of her faith
The holy word
Blood of his blood
I knew too soon her soul was raped

She prayed too hard to deaf ears
No response, no guiding white light
She slit her pale wrist

A thousand shadows
And a thousand fears
Desperately seeking solace
In a thousand tears
I speak for those who
Can never know peace
Desperately seeking solace
With the deceased

I watched with saddened eyes when
She suffered with this fool
She became a wraith among man
This world so cruel
Faced with the truth
To live her life among the damned

I never hated her false god
I need something more to despise
Then a mere idea

Blood fell like
Tears in the rain
Love, despair
It's all the same
Prick your finger
With the thorn
On red roses
Dead and torn
