Bank Tower

A sunny Southern day,
Where will I stay today?
As a child, no love was my friend,
I'll climb the tower,
A game of target, I'll pretend,
And here comes the car,
I owe this to you, Mother,
And, you left me on the streets,
When I didn't have anything to eat.

Tension is heating up,
And, I'm almost at the top,
Six shells, a rifle and a scope,
Being loosened, and lowered,
By a rusty rope.

Where do I turn to now?
The shelters, where are they?
Beg for a meal, I wouldn't know how,
So I'll make the front page news,
I'll be a forty-eight hour celebrity,
From people tampering with my views,
Fortifying my own made up destiny.

The keys were left in the ignition,
As the truck rolled out in park,
And, you yelled at me in the dark,
Only causing more tension,
So I ran away,
But, here I am today,
And the convict I will play,
When the hype goes down,
And, the air is clear as day.

And I didn't mean to spill the milk,
All over the chesterfield, black silk,
And I tried to wipe it clean,
And put back all the beans.

"A robbery/shooting in progress at First National Bank, at the East Walnut branch in Pasedena.  Police are closing in on the scene."

Helicopters fly overhead,
As the site is now a dread,
And the newsmen with their ties,
Make it to the scene,
Not co-operating with the cops,
To see if the robbery had come clean.

No fatalities.

$37,000.00 in funds.
