Panic Attack
Say
I am the epilogue
Pray
For my breath in the fog.
I have tears I wish to shed
When I join the ranks of the dead—
Say
My eyes yet bear light—
Pray
When they flood with the night.
There is a burning in my ears—
I am spoken of
Throughout the spheres
My broken love
Swears to me he hears
No shore calling,
No skies falling
But he will confess
A strange wilderness
Appears in my eyes
A strange wilderness
Where a soul no longer lies.
Say
My candle yet can glow
Pray
The deep flame will grow.
I feel I am a whisper dying
A whisper replying
To a kiss from far away
A whisper that cannot say
How I am sinking
How I am sinking
To the lips that caress
With such tenderness
The life that yet sings
And the hope that yet springs
In the void I become.
Assure me when I resurface
That I will find another kiss
Say
When I reach the ground
You will help me stay down
Say
I am alive, and in my eyes
Glows again the thing that dies
In the void I become.
