Right Here

 On my worst days or in my worst moments
I always try to remember that this is only now
Moments pass and things change
Sometimes good or sometimes bad
But the next now could be better than the last
You could heal a little more, ache a little less.
Hear birds chirping and singing in the garden
Or the lapping waves against the sea wall
Or hear nothing but the sweetness of silence
Under a cathedral of gloomy gray clouds
Life is always good, even when it’s bad
Something recently struck me
How a fly caught on a spider web
Doesn’t need to be reminded to rage
Against the dying of the light.
All animals fight to live, to survive.
It is only humans that need reminding
How we are really lucky to be here now,
And of how precious every breath is
We are lucky for every single day, even the bad ones,
We are lucky to have even been born here and now
I know where I am, where I belong - RIGHT HERE
Me in my place in this great big cosmic jigsaw puzzle
Who knows why some people have pristine lives and others have messy ones.
Who knows why some have silver spoons and some have empty stomachs?
Who knows why some people lose their leg and others run for their lives?
We are here now. We are right here, where we are supposed to be.
Life seems to be a process of chaos always trying to arrange itself
Before more chaos arrives, But it’s also wonderful and beautiful.
Just take a long lingering look out of the window
Even the dirtiest puddle can still reveal a reflection of the cosmos.
All we have to do is look at life with better, clearer eyes
