They said I couldn't do a thing for I am a pig,
I beg to differ ill make it big. 
American idol is my one chance to succeed,
A near win is all I need. 
If I get close I think I can get signed
Fear and nervousness in my soul are combined. 
The stage is calling my name. 
I don't want to make myself a fool and feel shame. 
Weeks pass and I slimly skate by
I slowly become less shy.
As I grow more comfortable and can open up
My character helps me rise to the top.
I don't want to forget the life I was living before. 
To zack I owe my life and more.
Honestly I am surprised I am still in this contest. 
The final weeks contain American idol's best.
Win and win again, so much work left to do. 
Every night I sleep 3 hours, maybe two. 
The last week arrives, my mind is blank. 
I slept more than usual, there's more fuel in the tank.
I began to sing my part, 
I did great from the start.
The votes from the viewers flooded in, 
I didn't think I could but I did win! 
In today's society it's hard to succeed,
But my next words you must heed.
Life gives you hurdles and no matter how high you must jump.
Don't worry if you don't jump high enough and fall with a thump
Try again, succeed, and celebrate with a fist pump.
Don't let your ego get to your head 
The all star ego you need to shed.
I will never forget who I became and who I am.
